October 4

Mont-Sainte-Anne is preparing to host the most eagerly awaited event of the season: the 28th UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. From October 5th to 9th, the trails will become the heart of thrilling competitions, bringing together a record number of more than 450 athletes from over 35 countries for the World Series finals. The festivities will run throughout the Thanksgiving weekend, day and night, offering a multitude of activities for cycling enthusiasts, thrill-seekers, families, and the general public.

"The Corporation Événements d'été de Québec is extremely proud to launch the 28th UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, the culmination of many months of work, says Marie-France Couture, Executive Producer. This is a very special edition, with finals in October, a new collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery - mandated by the International Cycling Union (UCI) to produce and broadcast the World Series - and the arrival of Mouvement Production as a new producer. Everyone has risen to the challenge with flying colours, and we are ready to offer athletes and spectators an event of the highest quality.”

“The challenge that Mouvement Production set for itself at the start of its mandate was to bring the event back to its core: an event for enthusiasts that puts our region and our athletes on the map, adds Ian Beaulieu, co-founder of Mouvement Production and Production Director. With five days of festivities, a highly experienced production team, an army of local volunteers and loyal partners, we can proudly say: mission accomplished!”

A host of breathtaking events

Mont-Sainte-Anne's iconic Downhill course (DHI) will dazzle spectators on Friday, October 6th ,with the junior athletes, followed by the elite athletes on Saturday, October 7th. Recognized as one of the most demanding events on the circuit, the legendary downhill at Mont-Sainte-Anne promises intensity and adrenaline for athletes and spectators alike!

The short-track cross-country (XCC) athletes will be in action on Thursday and Friday, October 5th and 6th respectively, while the Olympic cross-country (XCO) riders will take to the course on Sunday, October 8th.

“"It's an honor to be taking part in the UCI MTB World Cup at Mont-Sainte-Anne. This place is full of history and challenges. I can't wait to see what the mountain has in store for us this year and to compete with the best in the world.” Laurie Arseneault , Canadian XCC Champion.

On Thanksgiving Monday, October 9th, there will be the KIDOVÉLO event presented by Desjardins, reserved for future champions aged 2 to 12, as well as Pump Track competitions presented by Rocky Mountain, open to everyone aged 11 and over, including a UCI Pump Track Qualifier that will send the winners to the World Championships in Patagonia in November 2023.

We're expecting world-renowned participants, up-and-coming champions, and rising stars of mountain biking to compete in these incredible events throughout the entire weekend.

As well as the competitions: the party!

The popular success of the Mont-Sainte-Anne UCI MTB World Cup goes beyond attracting spectators to the sporting competitions; once again this year, the atmosphere will be electrifying, with after-races parties presented by Boréale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. in an indoor lounge, featuring DJs including NEWBLEACH, SUPER PLAGE and DADPAQ.

To warm up the crowd between the end of the competitions and the start of the evenings, DJs presented by Red Bull will be hosting outdoor happy hours in the food and bar area, where a giant screen will also be set up.

A number of activities are also being organized by our partners throughout the weekend. Of particular note is the Hop On Program run by the Fédération Québécoise de Sports Cyclistes (FQSC), in partnership with Desjardins, which will introduce children to mountain biking on October 7th and 8th.

And of course, the public will have plenty of fun again this year discovering our huge Exhibitors’ Village, bringing together over 120 vendors and teams.
